01 Project overview - LaliCreates
Problem statement
-
I started with my hobby around a year ago before I decided to move forward with the creating the website. Since I received some orders from my family and friends, I saw that there is a lack of information about my creations, so I decided to start working on my website. Also, a lot of people, especially older generations don't use instagram so I think the web and mobile app is the best option to show your creations.
Solution&outcomes
-
I´ve made a solution to help clients to search easily on my web page.
Goal:
-
To create simple and modern web page for those clients who want to see more information and prefer to order things over the website. Althought I already had an instagram account which is great app for mobile phone, I wanted to create a mobile app as well.
How I came up with the name "lali creates"?
-
Since my name is Lara and one good friend of mine calls me Lari, so I thought to combine those two names and I ended up with lali. Except frames I am working with magnets and bracelets so I came up with my creations and here we have lali creates.

Why I chose this group?
I am offering frames for birthdays, diplomas which is very popular among students.
Solution: desktop app & mobile app

02 Evaluation of the prototype
-
The process of evaluation is based on the heuristic evaluation from the book
“Heuristic evaluation of user interfaces “ [Nielsen and Molich, CHI'90].
With this guidelines I could do the tests of the interface without evaluator.
What I am going to evaluate?
-
Friendly interface
-
Fast navigation
-
Easy understanding
-
Suitable for users´ needs and expectations

04 Conclusion
What I have learned?

-
This was my first project in the field of UI/UX design at University and I've learned theory about the user perspective. Subject (Human Computer Interaction) was more focused on front end development so we didn't have a lot of time to dig deep into human centered design process. For that reason I see that I miss the real feedback from the potential users. I see that it´s not enough to have assumptions especially from the users who use mostly instagram and not web pages.
What skills I need to improve more?
-
Work on usability testing
-
Learn research methods
-
Ask more often for the feedback
Future steps?
-
Usability testing
-
User login and registration
-
Add other products (e.g. magnets)
